Why I started MRL

Ethan Larson

Head Coach, St. David's SchoolFormer UNC Men's Lacrosse PlayerOwner, Midtown Raleigh Lacrosse

I played at the University of North Carolina and learned firsthand what it takes to develop: build strong fundamentals, put in intentional work, and compete when the game speeds up.

While in college, coaching and training younger players showed me how much I cared about using lacrosse to serve other people. When I came to Raleigh, I saw families traveling significant distances for more opportunities to learn and play.

MRL was built to give young players a stronger local foundation—real coaching, productive repetitions, and room to keep improving at their own pace.

“The goal is not to decide what kind of player every kid should become. It is to give them the foundation and opportunity to keep getting better.”

Improvement is a process: learn, work, compete, adjust, and keep going.

That is how better players are built.
